Samuel Ryder was an avid English golfer as well as being a seed merchant. Upon hearing that the Americans were becoming contenders in the sport, Ryder reached out and asked the top American players to join the top English players in a tournament. Thus, the beginning of the Ryder Cup.

Golf Channel Has a New Location
For TWC users, the Golf Channel, former Channel 35, is now Channel 73. TWC has made the switch from analog to digital meaning if you still have the cable hookup to receieve your television, you no longer get the Golf Channel.
